Harry & Ida's opened in 2015 with Meat and Supply Co., a sandwich counter and general store located in NYC's East Village carrying locally sourced and in-house prepared goods. In 2017, we opened Luncheonette in the Financial District, a quick service, vegan-forward lunch counter. We are dedicated to preserving the traditions and heritage ingredients of our past, while always looking forward to the future of food sustainability.
Our locations take their names from our great grandparents, Harry (aka. "Pops") & Ida, who opened a kosher delicatessen in Harlem nearly a century ago, as Hungarian immigrants. Many of the recipes are based off of the originals from the deli. We are best known for our Pastrami Sandwich, with thick slabs of brined and smoked brisket deckles, served with buttermilk-fermented cucumber kraut, cracked rye berry, anchovy mustard and fresh dill on a pillowy white long bun.
